Hello
We had a kind of a small delay in our blog. Yeah, exams, summer´s coming and we´re simply becoming lazy. Don´t give up!
So, we started a new topic "Entertainment". We talked about television and learnt many new words (soap opera, news report, weather forecast, sitcom, chat show, reality show, quiz show etc.).
We were also talking about your preferences while talking about television. We learnt some useful expressions for it - likes and dislikes:

dislikes: I don´t really like .../I hate.../ I don´t mind .../ I can´t stand ... etc.
Is television good or bad? Listen to some people talking about it and do the online tasks, pay attention to some adjectives to describe the programmes (violent, educational, interesting, boring, entertaining ect.): Listening Link "Is TV good or bad for people?"
Do you enjoy watching horror movies? Listen to the audio and do the tasks - Listening Link.
We also learnt some new expressions to make suggestions and to respond to them:
Why don´t we + go to the cinema (Inf.) - That´s a good idea!
Let´s + go to the cinema (Inf.) - Sure. Why not?
We could + go to the cinema (Inf.) - You´re joking! No way!
I suggest we + go to the cinema (Inf.) - That sounds great!
How about + going ... (Gerund) - I´d rather say no.
Fancy + going ... (Gerund) etc. - I´d love to, but ...
We were practising making suggestions in different situations!
Watch a short video "Making suggestions" and write down what the boys suggest each other. What happened in the end?

Hello
Today we´ve started a new topis "Nature attacks". We learnt some new words related to natural disasters (a fire, an earthquake, a flood, a volcanic eruption, a hurricane etc.).
Also we learnt some expressions to describe these disasters (to shake, to wobble, to blow away, to overflow, to spread, thick smoke, strong winds, heavy rains, flames, lava etc.).
If you want to practise the vocabulary, click on this link here.
Watch the video and learn new vocabulary: Video
Also we got to know a new grammar item - Past Continuous.
We form Past Cont. with the help of "to be":
was
were + Verb-ing
I was watching TV yesterday in the evening.
We were playing basketball at 6 p.m.
We use it to emphasize the action in duration in the past (it not only happened in the past, but it lasted for some time).
Very often Past Cont. is used with Past Simple, when one action in the past interrupts another one in duration:
I was cooking dinner when the telephone rang.
Also we can have two continuous actions happening at the same time:
I was reading a book while my mother was cooking dinner.
Here´s the list of exercises to practise Past Cont. - link.

In order to practise a little bit of listening visit the link, choose any listening task you like and practise:
Listening Activities List
Also here´s a link for Video Lessons, where you can watch, listen and if necessary see the subtitles while people´re speaking:
Video Lessons
Here´s one more link of the Elementary podcast (small radio programme) with lots of exercises to do online. There are a lot of programmes, so that you can listen to them and practise every day.
Also have a look at one more link - there are three lists of listening activities, you choose "Easy". There are also exercises to them and transcripts to read if you can´t understand.
Cyber Listening Lab
Hope you´ll find these links useful!
Remember: listen to at least one exercise EVERY DAY!
Next class we´re going to start a new topic.

Hello
Today we were talking about MONEY, a good topic, isn´t it?
We learnt a lot of useful words and expressions (to lend, to borrow, to earn, to win, to cash, to change) etc.:

I don´t like to lend money to people, ´cause they never pay back!
How much do you earn?
Have you ever won a lottery?
Also we learnt some specific words related to money (cash, currency, credit card, salary, wages, allowance). Remember: we say "to pay in cash, but by credit card".

Do you like shopping?
Are you shopaholic?
Do you usually waste your money on stupid things?
Can you blow all your salary in one go?
Do you pay in cash or by credit card?
We also listened to several people talking about their shopping habits. Listen to it again here and do the online activities.

Hello!
What are you going to do this weekend? Hmm, I don´t know yet. I think I´ll stay at home.
See? I´m using different types of future.
So, today we´ve been practising to use Future Simple for spontaneous decisions:
What would you like? - I think I´ll have a coke.
What are you going to buy your mum for her birthday? - I don´t know. I´ll buy her some flowers.
For some extra practice click here.
Also we practised "to be going to" in predicitons based on what we see and evidences:
There are a lot of black clouds, it´s going to rain.
Those children are wearing swimsuits, they´re going to swim.
For some extra practice click here.
Will or Be going to?
Also we use "to be going to" to express our intentions/plans:
I´m going to prepare for my exams.
They´re going to the seaside on holidays.
For some extra practice click here.
Watch the video and practise Future tenses.

Hello!
Today we´ve listened to your presentations about Festivals in Spain. They were all very interesting. Those who haven´t spoken you have the chance to do it next class.
Common mistakes: people/children (no article), on the 12th of August, the festival is celebrated, people sing songs, drink, dance etc. (NOTdancing, drinking, singing).
British celebrate one day with fireworks -
Guy Fawkes Night or Bonfire Night (November 5th).

Watch the video again.
If you want to know more about the history, watch a short video about what happened that day and who Guy Fawkes was.
People usually recite this small poem this day:
Remember, remember, the 5th of November
The Gunpowder Treason and plot;
I see of no reason why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Next week we´re starting a new topic "Eat in or out".
Your homework is to find the food and its names in your copies and revise the grammar points.
